Dear Friend, I am writing to you from what may be the most prophetically significant day any of us have witnessed in our lifetimes. President Trump has now confirmed on Truth Social what many of us suspected this morning: Ayatollah Ali Khamenei — the Supreme Leader of Iran and the world’s chief sponsor of terrorism against Israel — is dead.

⚡ Breaking — Confirmed Today

President Trump posted on Truth Social: “Khamenei, one of the most evil people in History, is dead.” Trump added that this is justice not only for the people of Iran, but for all those across the world killed or harmed by Khamenei’s regime.

U.S. and Israeli officials confirm that most of Iran’s senior military and political leadership has been eliminated in today’s joint strikes — including the IRGC commander and Iran’s Defense Minister. The operation, called “Roaring Lion” by Israel and “Operation Epic Fury” by the Pentagon, is described as ongoing.

Trump addressed the Iranian people directly: “The hour of your freedom is at hand.” He urged the IRGC and Iranian security forces to lay down their weapons and seek immunity.

For years I have been teaching that the Iranian regime — not the Iranian people, but the regime — was the single greatest obstacle to peace in the Middle East. This regime funded Hamas, which carried out the October 7 massacre. It funded Hezbollah. It armed the Houthis. It directed Islamic Jihad. Everywhere you found terrorism aimed at Israel’s destruction, you found Iran’s fingerprints and Iran’s money.

Israel has never stopped wanting peace. The Iranian regime never stopped wanting Israel destroyed. That ideology has now collided catastrophically with reality.

“Iwill bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

Genesis 12:3

God’s covenant with Abraham has never been revoked. History is littered with the wreckage of regimes, empires, and ideologies that made Israel’s destruction their central purpose. Egypt. Babylon. Nazi Germany. The Soviet Union. And now the Islamic Republic of Iran as we have known it. None of them succeeded. None of them will.

In Zechariah 12, God declares that Jerusalem will be “a burdensome stone for all people” in the last days — that the nations will be drawn into confrontation over this city and this people. We are watching that prophecy unfold in real time. And in Zechariah 2:8 God says that whoever touches Israel touches “the apple of His eye.” This is not politics. This is theology. This is the Word of God moving through history.

Now — I want to speak to the fear some of you may be feeling. The images are dramatic. The headlines are breathtaking. Iran is retaliating. Missiles have struck Israel and Gulf states. A woman has been killed in Tel Aviv. The world feels unsteady.

“See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.”

Matthew 24:6

Jesus said this not to dismiss our concern but to give us an anchor. All these things must come to pass. The chaos we see is not evidence that God has lost control. It is evidence that the story is moving exactly as He said it would. The Sovereign God of the universe was not surprised by what happened in Tehran this morning. He was not caught off guard by the fall of Khamenei.

The question for each of us is not “what will happen next?” — though we will keep watching. The question is: is your heart anchored in Christ? Is your hope fixed on eternity? Can you look up with the confidence Jesus described — knowing that your redemption draws near?

That is the only foundation that holds when the nations tremble.
